"CHARLIE, WHAT'S WRONG?" SYDNEY ASKED. "I THOUGHT YOU

said you were over Tyler."

Nidhi grabbed my arm with one hand and Sydney's with the other hand and started leading us across the gym.

"Where are we going?" Sydney protested. Just then, Michael walked up with his date, a beautiful Asian girl. "Hey, ladies, I want to introduce you to Molly," he said. But we definitely did not have time for this--I was in full-blown panic-mode.

"Sorry, Michael, emergency," Nidhi said as we rushed past him.

"Nice meeting you!" Sydney called back over her shoulder.

Nidhi took us straight to a corner of the gym and sat us down on the bleachers, safely behind a cloud billowing from one of the dry-ice machines.

"Okay, seriously, what's going on?" Sydney demanded.
